Malaysia - November 2011
Here you can find photos from the nine days I recently spent in Malaysia. This trip allowed me to present a paper at ICSIPA 2011 (the 2nd IEEE International Conference on Image and Signal Processing Applications). The conference was held in Kuala Lumpur from 16th to 18th November, after which I stayed a further night, moving from the golden triangle to Chinatown.
I then flew to Penang, where I stayed for three nights in Georgetown - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, officially recognized as having a unique architectural and cultural townscape without parallel anywhere in East and Southeast Asia (according to Wikipedia). I departed at 8:30am on the ferry to Langkawi - a beautiful archipelago next to the Thai border. Here I stayed in the Pantai Cenang area for two nights before flying back to KL to catch my return flight. You can see where these places are on a map in the first image.
